Xiaomi’s first ever Android One smartphone, Mi A1, has received a price cut. The device was launched on September 12 at Rs 14,999. You can buy the smartphone at the new price from both Flipkart and Mi.com websites.
Xiaomi has announced a permanent price cut for the Mi A1 device which is now available for Rs 13,999. The Rs 1,000 price cut incidentally follows the launch of the Huawei Honor 7X which is priced at Rs 12,999. Flipkart even offered a temporary special discount on the Mi A1 last week wherein the device was available for Rs 12,999.
The smartphone comes in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colour variants, sporting a full metal body and a dual rear camera setup, in a similar fashion as seen with the iPhone 7 Plus and the OnePlus 5. The company recently introduced the Rose Gold version. At the time of the launch, it was available only in Black and Gold.
It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is confirmed by the company to get Android 8.0 Oreo and the upcoming Android P.
Sporting a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) LTPS display with pixel density of 403ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass protection, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2GHz along with the Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB RAM. The smartphone comes with 64GB inbuilt storage, which can be soared up using a microSD card (up to 128GB).
Besides Android One, another highlight of the Xiaomi Mi A1 is the dual camera setup. The smartphone has a 12MP wide-angle lens with PDAF, F/2.2 aperture along with a 12MP telephoto lens with F/2.6 aperture. Both team up to deliver improved ‘Bokeh’ shots by recognising the foreground from the background and blurring it for a better effect. With the telephoto zoom lens, users can jump to 2X zooming capabilities from the smartphone’s camera with a tap on the screen. The camera can record up to 4K resolution videos.
Selfie lovers will have to settle down for a 5MP camera with the Beautify feature, self-timer and facial recognition.
The Xiaomi Mi A1’s running power is being supplied by a 3080mAH battery. The dual SIM supporting smartphone supports the usual set of connectivity options such as 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct and GPS. In addition to sporting a fingerprint sensor, the Mi A1 also has an inbuilt headphone amplifier with support for up to 600 Ohm.
