LG launched a more powerful version of its flagship V30 smartphone, aka LG V30+ in India today (December 13). The phone, which was unveiled at IFA 2017 in August, has an 18:9 ‘FullVision’ curved OLED display, dual rear cameras and a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC audio tech powered by Bang & Olufsen as its highlight. The South Korean tech firm is also giving away B&O Play earphones bundled with the handset.
LG V30+ price and availability
The price of the V30+ is Rs 44,990 and it will be on sale exclusively on Amazon India from 18 December. The handset’s pre-booking will start from tomorrow (December 14) onwards. The phone will be available in two colour variants – Aurora Black and Cloud Silver.
At the time of the launch, LG said it is offering a one-time screen replacement worth Rs. 12,000 for free. In addition to this, buyers get a free wireless charger along with in-app purchases worth Rs. 6,400 for the Beat Fever app. It is worth adding that the in-app purchase offer and the one with free wireless charger have been extended until December 19.
LG V30+ specifications
The V30+ is dust and water resistant since it is IP68 certified and is shock resistant with a MIL-STD- 810G rating.
On the software side of things, it features a face-unlocking feature and a Floating Bar interface that has substituted the secondary ticker display seen on the earlier V-Series models. There is also an Always-On Display feature, in addition to HDR10 support that was introduced with the LG G6 earlier this year.
What’s noteworthy is that the launch has taken place a few months before the next generation flagship Samsung smartphone – Samsung Galaxy S9 is due for its launch.
LG V30+ comes with a 6-inch QHD+ (2880×1400 pixels) FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It runs on LG’s Android 7.1.2 Nougat-based UX software helping users become more productive.
The smartphone comes equipped with dual rear cameras that include a 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.6 aperture and a secondary camera with 13-megapixel 120 degrees wide-angle lens and f/1.9 aperture. The front camera has a 5-megapixel sensor with a wide 90-degree field of view lens.
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm’s top-line processor, Snapdragon 835, together with 4GB of RAM with 128GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB). It has a hybrid dual-SIM configuration, meaning you can either use the device with two SIM cards or with a single SIM card and a microSD card. Backing the handset is a 3,300mAh battery coupled with a fast and wireless charging support.
