iPhone X, the most significant iPhone from Apple in years finally went up for pre-order today. And guess what, it sold out within 30 minutes of being listed. The iPhone X went up for pre-orders in 55 countries where Apple has partners.
According to reports, Apple is facing some serious issues with the production of their anniversary edition iPhone. It may be difficult for Apple to meet the demands and provide iPhones to all the customers who pre-booked the phone. The initial launch of the iPhone X on November 3 is sure to leave some customers disappointed.
Among the two variants, the 64GB model was the first to sell out and it didn’t take long for the 256GB model to follow suit. The shipping times have increased and now show some 2-3 weeks delay. Others reported that some customers have even got a 4-5 week wait time.
Those that could not book the phone, best try their luck on the day the phone launches in the stores. But, be prepared for some really really long queues, because the rave is real this time.
Some people are trying to take advantage of this situation to score some big bucks. With the skewered demand and supply ratio of the iPhone X, people are listing their bookings on ebay for ridiculous amounts of money.
For instance, this guy listed his booking of the iPhone X for a mind-boggling $59,999. No matter how we think of it, this seems like a ridiculous idea for anyone to fall for this. You may not get the phone now, but you will eventually.
The phone listed is a 256GB variant, yet, It just doesn’t make sense to pay $60,000 for an iPhone that costs $1,150. The delivery date on the listing shows an estimated delivery time between October 30 and November 13.
It seems unlikely that the customer will get their hands on the iPhone during the early release. More importantly, it seems to be an unnecessary investment even for the biggest fan.
