Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has unveiled what can be called its first-ever smartphone with four cameras. Called as the Honor 9i, the Android 7.0 Nougat-based handset also comes with a ‘FullView’ display, which is another name for the Samsung’s ‘Infinity Display’ or LG’s ‘FullVision’ display. It is priced at Rs 17,999 and will be made available from Flipkart starting October 14 in three colour variants.
The Honor 9i sports a metal unibody design and has a 5.9-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is backed by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, clubbed with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. It runs EMUI 5.1 based on Android Nougat.
Besides the screen, the highlight of the Honor 9i is the dual camera setup at both front and back. The smartphone has a 13MP+2MP front-facing camera for better depth shots. Like the Honor 8 Pro, the Honor 9i too lets you change the focus in the image after it has been shot. At the back, you get a 16MP camera along with a 2MP camera with same functionalities.
The Honor 9i is backed by a 3340mAh battery, which it claims can last for up to two days when on standby. Another additional feature you get in the mid-range handset is ‘Huawei Histen audio system’ which revamps the audio output. There are some gesture-based shortcuts onboard as well such as drawing letters to trigger certain functions. Tapping twice and thrice for screen recording and other features is also a nifty addition.
The Honor 9i will be made available in three colour variants namely Prestige Gold, Aurora Blue and Graphite Black.
In addition to a smartphone, Honor also unveiled its new 10,000mh Quick Charge Powerbank, which is priced at Rs 2,399. It will be available from hihonorstore.in.
